Drawers

The next time you are online, chatting to a friend or even on the phone with them ask them what’s in their desk drawer. If you are lucky they are at home. If they’re at work then you’d be surprised what people have in their desk drawers at work. There’s an insane about of fruit lurking in desk drawers.

I got a list of items today from a friend and while I was aware of some of them, one or two caught me by surprise. Completely and totally by surprise and I’m still laughing at the hodge podge collection. It’s such a very odd list it must be true. I’ve demanded photographic evidence.

People are so very strange.

And if nothing else it might make you want to tidy that filthy desk drawer just in case anyone asks you what’s in it.

For the record, I write at a desk with no drawers.

  1. Since I often work with the computer on my lap, what’s in my drawers is whatever is in my pants pockets. Right now, it’s car keys and three pep-o-mint life savers.

  2. Two drawers full of tools for network cabling and computer repair.

One drawer with cheerios, a bowl, spoon, fork, peanut butter, Earl Grey Tea, and a Scooby Doo thermos I forgot to take back to the kids.

Business Cards, Black tape, clear tape, labels, a shoe-shine buffing sponge thing…

Trash bags, sinus medicine, allergy medicine, headache medicine, Halls Mentholyptus, Pepcid Complete….

And the final drawer is filled to bursting with music cds…

    Don’t ask about the shelves.

But now I have to ask about the shelves. What’s on the shelves?
